CHRISTIANSBURG, Va., (June 9, 2026) – The Eagles used a couple of big innings to hammer Honaker 13-2 in the VHSL Class 1 state softball tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday.
Auburn scored four times in the first inning and pushed across seven runs in the sixth, ending it early.
Addison Earley hit two home runs for the Eagles, with Hope Wilson and Leah Wimmer also connecting for homers. Wimmer’s homer was a grand slam in the sixth inning, ending the game under the mercy rule.
Honaker struggled in the field with five errors.
Gracie Shelton went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Tigers, while Cadence Rose added two hits.
