Rising country music artist Drake White headlined the seventh annual Cedar Fest in Lebanon on June 13. Shortly before taking to the Main Street stage, White posted a video to social media of himself while driving through the town.
“You know, we’re in Lebanon, Virginia today and noticing all of these houses. This is just America. This is what this country is made up of. Its normal families with normal front porches.”
White added, “There’s more good people than bad. There’s more good places than bad. You just got to get out here, in these beautiful places like Lebanon, Virginia and see for yourself.”
Cedar Fest kicked off on June 12 with performances by The Grascals, The Kody Norris Show and Little Texas.
Joining White on June 13 were On the Border, Elvie Shane, and Channing Wil-son. Elvie Shane was a late substitution for Tyler Reese Tritt who was unable to the trip to Russell County.
Perhaps the biggest ovation of the festival occurred when the Lebanon High School Pioneers baseball team arrived back home just before White’s perfor-mance, with yet another Virginia High School League state championship trophy proudly on display.
