In recent months The Russell Theatre has brought exceptional regional and nationally known talent to Lebanon. This weekend, the spotlight will have a local flare.
This weekend The Sunday Songwriters series returns to The Russell.
“The Sunday Songwriters bring together talented songwriters from our own Southwest Virginia region for an intimate, up-close performance,” state Shane Farmer, Director of The Russell Theatre. “Each artist will take the stage sharing the stories behind their songs and performing them live.”
Farmer added, “Every lyric has a story, every song has a soul – and we’re proud to provide the stage for them to share both with you.”
This week’s featured artists include Thomas Taylor, whose poignant lyrics and melodic compositions have captivated audiences far and wide.
Joining him Dan Deel, known for his distinctive sound and ability to weave narratives that resonate deeply with listeners.
Ryan Adkins was originally scheduled to be a part of the program as well, but he is unable to attend. As of press time, Farmer is working to secure a contract with a third local songwriter.
Each of these songwriters will take turns sharing their work, providing insight into the creative process and the personal experiences that influenced their songs.
The event will begin at 3:00 p.m., offering a perfect afternoon escape for music lovers and anyone interested in the art of songwriting. Admission is $20.
