The annual Route 80 Festival will be held in Honaker this Saturday, August 1.
Carson Peters and Iron Mountain, Basic Grass, and the Amanda Cook Band will be performing.
The event will take place at the Honaker Town Park, next to New Peoples Bank. According to town officials, the concert will get underway at 5 p.m. and will conclude at 9 p.m.
In addition to plenty of music, various food trucks and craft vendors will be on hand. The town’s splash pad will also be open.
As always, the Route 80 Festival is free of charge.
Based in Southwest Virginia, the members of Basic Grass have been making a name for themselves by playing numerous shows throughout the region. Previous concerts by Basic Grass can be found on YouTube.
The Amanda Cook Band, which hails from the Fancy Gap area of Southwest Virginia, is known for heartfelt storytelling, tight harmonies and Cook’s strong lead vocals.
The band made its Grand Ole Opry debut in 2024 and has been selected for the IBMA Bluegrass Leadership Program.
The Amanda Cook Band has five albums to date with the sixth, “Love Through Time” scheduled to be released in October.
Based in East Tennessee, Carson Peters and Iron Mountain offers a traditional-style of bluegrass.
Peters has appeared on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, the Grand Ole Opry and NBC’s “The Voice.”
Carson Peters and Iron Mountain have a number of albums to date. The latest, “Hold on Heart” was released earlier this year.
