Russell County will party like it is 1999 again this weekend as the extraordinary Prince tribute Purple Piano will be at The Russell Theatre.
“What a Show we have in store for you!” stated Russell Director Shane Farmer. “Prepare to be captivated as Marshall Charloff takes the stage as the one-man tribute to Prince, presenting his extraordinary Purple Piano show.”
This unique production stands out as the only one of its kind, promising an unforgettable experience that pays homage to the legendary music icon, Prince.
Charloff’s show is inspired by Prince’s final tour, Piano and a Microphone. Charloff performs 35 Prince songs with just his voice and piano. No tracks, no safety nets.
Charloff has been playing tributes to Prince for over 16 years, touring internationally and setting the standard for the genre. However, he has earned a reputation as a gifted musician for his own accomplishments as well.
He is an accomplished recording artist as he has written, produced, and recorded for the Commodores as well as Little Anthony and the Imperials.
Charloff’s 2020 record “Unperfect” was among the top 100 albums that year on the global smooth jazz charts. Last year his single “X-Centric”, featuring legendary saxophonist Gerald Albright, reached number one.
Purple Piano will be Sunday, September 27, beginning at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25.
