The Town of Cleveland is the place to be this month for those who enjoy Halloween festivities. Town officials have scheduled several “spooktacular” events for those who love a good scare.
The Fall Movie Night kicks off the Halloween season in Cleveland this weekend with a special showing of “Scream.” The movie will be at the Cleveland Town Park on October 10, beginning at 7 p.m.
In addition to the movie, the Cleveland Farmers Market will be open at the town park on October 10 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A bounce house, cornhole and plenty of food are also on the agenda.
Cleveland’s Fall Festival will be the following weekend, October 17 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Held at the Cleveland Recreational Center, the event will feature a costume contest, cake walk, live music with Bluegrass Circle, cornhole, face painting and much more. Vendors may set up free of charge.
Those who believe they are brave enough to take part are invited to the Haunted School on October 23 and 24. Tickets are $10 each and the first group will enter the Haunted School at 7 p.m. each night. All proceeds from the VetFest SWVA sponsored event will go to Stop Soldier Suicide.
In addition to ghosts, ghouls and other things that go bump in the night inside the school, the event will also feature campfire ghost stories, hotdogs and marshmallows for roasting by the campfire, as well as hot chocolate and coffee.
Cleveland’s Trunk or Treat and Halloween parade will be October 30. Lineup for the parade will be at the old Cleveland Town Hall at 5:00 p.m. The parade will get underway an hour later at 6 p.m.
The parade will make its way through town before ending at the Cleveland Ball Field, where the trunk or treat will take place.
Awards for first, second and third place will be given out.
