October 9th was the date of our latest meeting. We gave the potato peelers the day off today. Our group was slow in arriving this cool morning. The coffee was soon brewing, and everyone was ready for another meeting to get underway.

Betty Sue called our meeting to order. She read the prayer requests and then opened devotions with prayer. Gary Thomas then finished the devotions. He read I Peter chapter 3 starting with verse 10. Heaven is full of joy unspeakable and glory. God has given us a promise of an eternal home in Heaven.

After devotions Betty Sue called the roll. We had 26 members present today and no visitors. Missed our members who were out today. Numbers were down today.

We then stood and made our Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag.

I then gave the financial report. We talked about different menu options and things going on in the near future. I then gave the financial report. We talked about different menu options and things going on in the near future.

Our Singers today were Linda Wilson, Joyce Baldwin, Betsy Newton, and Greg Noe. Linda, Joyce, and Greg sang: “What A Day”; “When Did I Get This Old”; and “Every Day Is A Gift”. then Betsy led everyone in singing: “Happy Birthday”, “God Bless America” and “As I Have Loved You”, “God Bless America” and “As I Have Loved You”

Betsy asked the blessing over the food. Our menu today was breakfast. One of my favorite meals, I love breakfast anytime.

There were several crockpots full of gravy, there was even one full of chocolate gravy. Sausage and country ham biscuits, plain biscuits, bacon, sausage, eggs and fruit and jelly. A great meal. There were some breakfast pastries for dessert, if you could hold any. I filled up on biscuits and gravy.

After lunch was over and clean up was complete, it was bingo time! Nancy Tiller gave out the bingo cards and Gary Thomas and Ron Jackson brought in the bingo prizes. Betty Sue started the fun by calling the first few games then I finished up so she could play her card. Our winners today were: Winning one game each; Don Hess, Ron Jackson, Ella Mae Peck, Kathy Noe, Betty Sue Hess, Norman Wilson, Nola White, Inez Sparks, Thelma Massie, Greg Noe, Nancy Childress, Joyce Baldwin, and I won one. Winning two games were Shelia Hale and Lucy Blankenship. Winning three games was David Compton and our big winner today was Judy Rowe who won four games.

Our next meeting is scheduled for October 23, beginning at 11 a.m. Our menu is soup and sandwiches. Everyone welcome!

Remember to pray for one another. When prayers go up, blessings come down!
