As someone who frequents McDonalds in Lebanon VA, I am very upset that I had to go into the store to retrieve my 2 cents (may sound like nothing).
My order was rounded up by 2 cents. When I went in and requested my money back, the Manager said what are you going to do when there are no pennies now that they have discontinued making them, and there are a lot of other businesses doing this to.
I told her, that I always check my receipts, especially when paying with cash (like I did today) and will always go get my money back.
As I stated previously, I frequent McDonalds for breakfast on my way to my business (where I still give out pennies in change).
If I were to visit McDonalds once a week for a year and order the same exact meal, I would lose $104.00. This is appalling! There are plenty of pennies still out there and this does not need to be done at this stage.
