Lebanon High School recently issued a statement praising a student for winning the From the Frontier to Freedom essay contest.
Alissa Beck recently won the From Frontier to Freedom essay contest, which was sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The essay contest was in honor of the nation’s semiquincentennial.
Beck’s efforts earned her a scholarship of $250. She read her essay to an audience celebrating Independence Day at the Historic Crab Orchard Museum in Tazewell County on July 4.
“Her essay was selected because it reflects a unique point of view based on her passions and personal experiences,” the LHS statement read. “Way to go!”
