
BILLY SAM PRICE, 93, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 26, at Johnston Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert Price and Martha Ferguson Price; his wife of sixty years, Betty Fields Price, and great-grandson, Jackson Cook; sisters, Wilma Jean Ganoe and Doris Garrett; brother, Roland “Hambone” Price, and special nephew, Danny Garrett.
He loved farming, the Russell County Fair and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Russell County Fair Livestock Hall of Fame, and he was a member of the Russell County Fair Association Livestock committee.
He was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church until the loss of the church and then he became a member of Mount Olive Church. He was blessed with many friends too numerous to mention.
Survivors include daughters, Wilma Sue “Tootie” Kiser and husband Robbie, Bonnie Harvey and husband Rick and Paula Howington and husband Neal; grandchildren, Machelle Kiser, Sarah Holliday, Sam Harvey, Susan Mutter, Tiffany Smith and Amanda Cook; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, in the Combs-Hess Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with Pastor Bill Price and Randy Williams officiating. Burial followed in Russell Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Zack Ketron, Max Campbell, Cliff Price, Greg Price, Sam Harvey and Isaac McGlothlin.
