Southwest Virginia Community College’s Community Chorus is recruiting new members for the upcoming season. Singers from throughout the region are invited to join the ensemble and participate in rehearsals and public performances.
The Southwest Virginia Community College Community Chorus has a distinguished history of performing both regionally and nationally. The ensemble has performed by invitation at Duke Chapel in Durham, N.C., Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and appeared at numerous venues throughout New York.
The Community Chorus welcomes singers with a variety of musical backgrounds and experience levels. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their vocal skills, perform a wide range of choral music, and connect with others who share an interest in singing.
Rehearsals will be held on Mondays at 6:45 p.m., beginning in September, in Room K-180 of the King Community Center on the Southwest Virginia Community College campus. The Community Chorus presents two concerts each year: a Christmas concert in December and a spring concert as part of the Festival of the Arts in April.
