The Russell County Democratic Committee is hosting Change on the Clinch this week at the Cleveland Community Center in Cleveland.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Joy Powers, the Democrat nominee for the Ninth District’s seat in Congress, will serve as the keynote speaker. A question and answer session with Powers is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Other speakers include Dr. Amy Branson and former Cleveland Mayor Jennifer Chumbley.
Topics of discussion include the proposed data center that would be located on the old Moss 3 site, local pharmacies, the local coal industry, and farming and agriculture issues.
Change on the Clinch will also feature plenty of fun activities as well.
Various booths and vendors will be on hand, as well as the food truck Holy Smokes BBQ.
Games such as giant jenga, cornhole, ring toss, cake walk and a community raffle will take place from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
