BAILEY TATE JACKSON SR., –Lebanon, Virginia, Bailey Tate Jackson Sr., passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born in Russell County, Va., on October 3, 1944, the son of the late Bailey and Callie Tate Jackson.
A lifelong farmer, he also worked at the Lebanon Post Office and retired after 28 years of service. He was a member of Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church, Lebanon Masonic Lodge #251, and a dual member of the Stuart Masonic Lodge #224. He loved his family and especially cherished his two grandsons.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Ward and Catherine Garnett and husband James Mercer Garnett; sister-in-law, Wanda Couch; nephews, Jay Garnett and Anthony Sean Couch.
Survivors include his loving wife, DeAnna C. Jackson; son, Bailey Tate Jackson Jr. and wife Wendi; grandsons, William Jacob Jackson and Bailey Tate Jackson III; brother-in-law, Jerry Couch; sister-in-law, Libby McMurray and husband Rod; brother-in-law, Don Ward; nephews, Bill Ward, Shannon Long, and Myron Couch; nieces, Susanne Spivey and Anna Ward; special grand fur baby, Apollo.
Pallbearers were his Masonic brothers.
Honorary pallbearers were Shannon Compton, Jerry Fuller, Neal Breeding, Rob Ratliff, Ron Riddle, John Arrington, and Ron Barrett.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Tom Edwards and Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating. Masonic rites were conducted at 12:45.
The committal service followed at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon.
