Incumbent Linda Couch is seeking another term as the mayor of the Town of Cleveland. Couch is officially running opposed for the office.
A lifelong resident of the town, Couch has been involved in the community for over 20 years – serving on local boards, volunteering and helping families.
“I’m running for mayor because I care deeply about our community and want to help build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous future,” Couch said.
She said she strives to bring fresh ideas and steady leadership to the office of mayor.
“I’m especially proud of two key accomplishments – planting native trees at our campground and securing a deed of dedication for our waterfalls,” Couch said. “The native trees will help preserve our natural beauty, support wildlife and provide shade and a healthier environment for future generations. The deed of dedication ensures our waterfalls are protected for the long term, keeping this treasured resource public and available for everyone to enjoy.”
Among the most important issues facing Cleveland are improving infrastructure, supporting the local economy and small businesses, and keeping the community safe and connected. “These are the foundation for a healthy, vibrant and sustainable future,” Couch said.
Couch stated that if reelected her top priority in her first year would be to focus on infrastructure improvements such as safer roads, better sidewalks and a continued investment in parks and public spaces. “These projects will make our town safer, more connected and better for our families, businesses and visitors,” she said.
In regards to the local economy, Couch stated, “We should make it easier for local businesses to succeed by reducing unnecessary red tape, supporting our downtown and promoting local shopping and tourism.”
She added, “At the same time we can preserve our community’s character by supporting thoughtful growth, protecting our historic sites and keeping our neighborhoods safe and welcoming. A strong local economy and vibrant community can go hand in hand.”
Election Day is Nov. 3, 2026. Early voting is now underway.
