Voters in Cleveland will determine this November who will be on the town council. Among those running is incumbent Thomas Vance.
“I’m proud to be a part of this community. I value the relationships, traditions, and small town character that make our town a great place to live,” Vance said. “I want to use my experience, perspective and commitment to help our community continue moving forward while preserving what makes it unique.”
Vance said he has used his position as a town councilman to build relationships with residents, local businesses and various community organizations.
“I believe meaningful progress comes from listening to people, working together, and following through on commitments,” he said.
“One of my proudest accomplishments is helping to plant native trees at our campground and securing a deed of dedication for Tank Hollow Falls, ensuring this natural treasure is protected for future generations. Being able to contribute to Cleveland in a positive and constructive way is something I take great pride in.”
Vance said if reelected one of his top priorities would be to continue building the relationship between town hall, local businesses and the residents of Cleveland.
“I would like to continue supporting projects that encourage economic development while maintaining the town’s character,” he went on to say. “Creating opportunities for local businesses and community members to work together can help strengthen the local economy and make our town an even more welcoming place to live, work and visit.”
Vance said the residents of Cleveland should play a role in decisions that affect their future. “We should listen to residents and business owners when making decisions that affect the future of the town,” he said.
Vance said improving infrastructure, supporting the local economy and small businesses, and community safety are among the top issues facing Cleveland. “These are the foundation for a healthy, vibrant and sustainable future,” Vance said.
“Supporting local artisans, craftspeople and community-based tourism can also help generate unique products and experiences that attract visitors while keeping economic benefits within the community,” Vance added.
Early voting is now underway for the Nov. 3 election.
